Privacy Policy

Brand Assembled is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information Brand Assembled collects, why it is collected, how it is handled and protected, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to information collected through the Brand Assembled website, its forms, and the course of providing its services.

Brand Assembled is operated by Brooke Oliver, sole trader (ABN 32 357 764 176), based in the Macedon Ranges, Victoria. In this policy, “Brand Assembled” refers to that business, and “you” refers to the person whose information it handles.

01  THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Brand Assembled only collects information needed to provide its services. Depending on how you engage, this may include:

  • Contact and identity details — your name, date of birth, email address, phone number, and residential, business and postal addresses.

  • Business setup information — details needed to register an ABN, business name, domain and email, such as your business activity, proposed business names, structure, and the details of any associated partners, directors or trustees.

  • Tax file number (TFN) information — only where you choose to provide it, and only for the specific purpose set out in section 3 below.

  • Payment and billing information — the name and email for your invoices, and your instructions on how registration costs should be handled. Brand Assembled does not collect or store your full credit card details.

  • Website information — when you visit the Brand Assembled website, standard technical information such as your device type, browser and pages visited may be collected through analytics tools. The website uses Google Analytics and Wix’s built-in analytics, which rely on cookies and similar technologies to understand how the site is used.

02  HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

Your information is used to:

  • provide the services you have engaged Brand Assembled for, including registering your ABN, business name, domain and email;

  • communicate with you about your project, services and enquiries;

  • issue invoices and manage payments;

  • improve the website and services; and

  • meet legal and record-keeping obligations.

Brand Assembled will only use your information for the purpose it was collected, a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, or a purpose you have consented to.

03  TAX FILE NUMBER

Where you choose to provide your tax file number so Brand Assembled can lodge your ABN application on your behalf:

  • it is used for that single purpose only — lodging your application with the Australian Business Register;

  • it is securely destroyed immediately after lodgement, and is not retained on file, in email, or in any backup;

  • it is never disclosed to anyone other than the Australian Business Register and the ATO as part of that application;

  • it is never used to match or link your other personal information; and

  • you may instead choose to enter your TFN yourself, directly on the government website, during our setup session — in which case Brand Assembled never receives it at all.

Brand Assembled handles TFN information in line with the Privacy (Tax File Number) Rule 2015 and the Taxation Administration Act 1953.

04  WHO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH

Brand Assembled does not sell your information, and does not share it for third-party marketing. To deliver its services, it discloses only the information necessary to:

  • Government registries — the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the Australian Business Register, to register your ABN and business name;

  • Domain registrars and hosting or email providers, to register and set up your domain and email;

  • Service providers used to run the business, such as the website platform and invoicing tools, which are bound to protect your information.

Public registers: please be aware that some information you provide becomes publicly searchable once registered. Your business address appears on the ASIC business names register and the ABN register, and registrant details may appear on domain records. If you have safety concerns, raise them before lodging — ASIC allows some personal details to be suppressed in limited circumstances.

05  STORING AND PROTECTING YOUR INFORMATION

Brand Assembled takes reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. These include multi-factor authentication on key accounts, access restricted to Brooke Oliver alone, and firewall and up-to-date anti-virus protection on the devices used. Tax file numbers are entered live during lodgement and are never stored.

Your information is kept only as long as it is needed for the purposes above or to meet legal obligations, after which it is securely destroyed or de-identified.

Some of the service providers Brand Assembled relies on — including its website platform and invoicing software — may store data on servers outside Australia. Where this happens, reasonable steps are taken to ensure your information remains protected.

06  IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG — DATA BREACHES

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm — including any breach involving tax file number information — Brand Assembled will respond in line with the Notifiable Data Breach scheme, which may include notifying you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

07  ACCESSING AND CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION

You can ask to see the personal information Brand Assembled holds about you, and ask for it to be corrected if it is wrong or out of date. Get in touch using the details below and Brand Assembled will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge to make a request.

08  MARKETING

Brand Assembled will only send you marketing emails if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by getting in touch. Opting out of marketing does not affect the service communications Brand Assembled needs to send you about your project.

09  MAKING A COMPLAINT

If you have a concern about how your information has been handled, please get in touch first — Brand Assembled takes privacy seriously and will work with you to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.

10  CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

Brand Assembled may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on the website, with the effective date shown at the top.
